Nick Doucette, B.A.Sc., P.Eng. joins VEI Contracting!
If you’ve worked in environmental remediation in Canada, you already know Nick. Over the past 13+ years, he’s earned a national reputation as a trusted leader in complex environmental contracting. Nick has played a hands-on role in many of the country’s most challenging and iconic remediation programs – among them the Sydney Tar Ponds, Rock Bay, Esquimalt, Port Hope, and Toronto Port Lands projects.
Before joining VEI, Nick served as Vice President of Special Projects and New Markets at QM Environmental, where he helped deliver a broad portfolio of large-scale, multidisciplinary projects. From contaminated sediment remediation and water treatment, to major ecological restoration and low level radioactive waste management, Nick has seen and solved it all – working with clients across the federal government, transportation, heavy-industrial, development, and petroleum sectors.
At VEI, Nick will support strategic growth by leading our most complex project portfolios, helping expand into new markets, and contributing to high-level corporate planning. With a deep passion for resource recovery, water systems, environmental engineering, and large-scale construction, Nick is uniquely positioned to help VEI push into new territory and lead the way on emerging environmental and resource challenges.
In Nick’s own words:
“I’ve worked with the VEI team numerous times over the years and was always impressed with their collaborative approach. Whenever there was an opportunity to avoid sending the problem to a landfill and do something innovative, there really was no other service provider than VEI that offered practical, effective solutions. I’ve long admired the team’s energy, problem-solving, and ability to make even complex jobs fun. I’m thrilled to join the VEI family and look forward to helping the company grow.”
