Cold Weather Isn’t a Barrier to Progress
Cold Weather Isn’t a Barrier to Progress

Not that many years ago a lot of environmental and dewatering work slowed down during the winter months in parallel with the traditional construction season. Those days are long gone! In fact, winter is now a perfect time to initiate projects. Why wait for the spring rush and risk project delays? There is no reason to wait on staring your site characterization, environmental remediation, vapour or water treatment system, or construction dewatering projects until the warmer months.

VEI Contracting has proven capability to perform high resolution site characterization and in-situ environmental remedial injections under harsh winter conditions. Advanced techniques and specialized equipment allow for precise investigations and remedial injections even in subzero temperatures.

Beyond injections, the installation and maintenance of water treatment systems during the winter months is also possible. Cold weather does not impede the effective treatment of contaminated water. Even if we have to take an ice road to get to the site!

This ability extends even to dewatering projects – a critical component of many construction and remediation efforts. Dewatering operations, which are essential for maintaining safe and workable conditions on sites, are no less important during winter.

A special example of winter capabilities involves work performed at remote sites. Operating in these isolated and challenging environments requires not only technical proficiency but also adaptability to unpredictable conditions. We have successfully executed many such projects in these settings, proving that even the most remote and inhospitable sites can benefit from timely interventions.

The message is clear: innovative techniques and an experienced team enable us to push forward with environmental and construction projects all year long. Rather than waiting for the spring thaw, property owners, industrial operators, construction firms and environmental consultants can take advantage of the winter months to address issues head-on. By embracing winter as a working season, companies can minimize downtime and accelerate project timelines.

VEI’s success in executing complex projects during the harshest winter months exemplifies a new era in contracting – one where the season is no longer an obstacle, but rather an opportunity to advance sustainable practices, maintain construction schedules and safeguard our environment. With VEI, winter becomes a season of progress, not a period of pause!
