|BRUCE TUNNICLIFFE, M.A.Sc., P.Eng. has direct experience with the design and application of in-situ technologies at over 250 sites to treat a wide variety of contaminants. Bruce holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Waterloo where he studied in-situ chemical oxidation of chlorinated solvents in fractured rock. Bruce is the founder of Vertex, the SMART Remediation Seminar Series, and has spoken at conferences and symposiums across North America, and abroad.|
|KEVIN FRENCH, B.A.Sc., P.Eng., has 25 years of experience in environmental assessment and remediation. Kevin holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Waterloo where he studied Civil and Environmental Engineering. Since that time, Kevin has been involved in the design and implementation of remediation programs relating to chlorinated solvents (including DNAPL), petroleum hydrocarbons (including LNAPL), PAHs/coal tar, heavy metals, etc., at hundreds of sites across Canada.|
|NATHAN LICHTI, B.A.Sc., P.Eng. has completed over 100 in-situ remediation jobs including the injections of oxidants, reductants, and surfactants in porous and fractured media. Nathan has installed and operated numerous treatment systems including multi-phase extraction systems, passive and active skimmer systems, as well as pump and treat dewatering systems at various sites in Canada and the Middle East.|
|MIKE GAWEL, B.Sc., C.Tech., has designed and implemented more than 100 in-situ remediation projects. Mike has design experience and has operated and maintained several MPE and SVE systems as well as the operation of in-situ thermal heating systems (i.e. the Electro-Thermal Dynamic Stripping Process). Mike has completed remediation projects across Canada as well as South America and the Middle East.|
|PATRICK O’NEILL, M.A.Sc. has direct experience with the design and application of in-situ technology, Membrane Interface Probe (MIP), Ultra Violet Optical Screening Tool (UVOST) and Hydraulic Profiling Tool (HPT). Patrick holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Waterloo where he studied tile drain modeling in the Grand River watershed and the effects of climate change on the model.|
|KYLE DACEY, B. Sc., has 17 years of experience in remediating contaminated soil, water, and vapour at residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Kyle holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Guelph where he studied Microbiology. Kyle has designed, implemented, and managed remediation programs using advanced chemical and biological technologies (in situ and ex situ) and physical-mechanical systems (extraction techniques) for the remediation of petroleum hydrocarbons, coal tar, chlorinated solvents, and heavy metals.|
EXPERIENCED FIELD STAFF, In addition to the management team above, Vertex has numerous highly experienced field staff who implement Vertex’s in-situ remediation projects. Most Vertex field staff hold college or university degrees. Their practical and theoretical experience, combined with their depth of knowledge (completing injections daily), allow Vertex to successfully complete remediation projects.
