Bruce Tunnicliffe, M.A.Sc., P.Eng., and Kevin French, B.A.Sc., P.Eng., are presenting a Short Course entitled: “PM1 – Contaminated Groundwater: Innovative Remediation Techniques and Case Studies”.  The short course will focus on the presentation and discussion of innovative remedial technologies and approaches, including the presentation of recent advances with in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO), in-situ chemical reduction (ISCR), in-situ thermal, in-situ trap and treat techniques, and ex-situ soil mixing and treatment.  The course will conclude with case studies which showcase the application of the innovative treatment approaches.

Patrick O’Neill, M.A.Sc., is presenting a paper under the Advanced techniques for site characterization category entitled: “Real-Time High-Resolution Site Characterization of the Subsurface Using and MIP, LIF and HPT”.  This paper discusses the advantages of using in-situ, high-resolution data collection and modelling techniques (Membrane Interface Probe (MIP), Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF), and Hydraulic Profiling Tool (HPT)) to increase the level of detail and accuracy of your physical and chemical site characterization activities.

Pat, Kevin and I look forward to seeing you at this event.  It should be very interesting!  More details on the conference and information on how to register for these events can be found here:  http://www.iah-cnc2015waterloo.ca
